The Nola Holt Royster Living Legacy Scholarship is established in honor of Soror Nola Holt Royster, who devoted her life to uplifting, serving, and encouraging students. She held the position of Director of Career Services at the University of Arkansas, and in recognition of her contributions, the Office of Career Services bears her name. In tribute to her enduring legacy, this scholarship is awarded to Black female high school seniors who intend to pursue higher education. Recipients are selected based on their academic accomplishments, as well as their involvement in school and community activities.

Bethany D. McClendon was a dedicated and principled individual who demonstrated a strong commitment to her community and a fervent passion for justice. Her legal education served as a valuable tool to effect positive change and make a lasting impact on the lives of many. In recognition of her contributions, we have established this community service scholarship to honor her legacy.

Dr. Yvette Murphy-Erby spent nearly 20 years as a practicing social worker before becoming a professor at the University of Arkansas, where she taught, researched, and mentored students. She later became the university’s first woman vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion, helping create programs that opened doors for people who are often overlooked. Throughout her life, Dr. Murphy-Erby used her education, voice, and leadership to make sure more people had a fair chance to succeed.
The inaugural Dr. Yvette Murphy-Erby Career & Technical Education (CTE) Scholarship honors students who, like her, are committed to growth, service, and making a difference in their communities, especially those seeking to enroll in a two-year college or vocational-technical school in trade fields.
